The map pack (or local 3-pack) shows the top 3 local results for a search query. These listings get 60-70% of all clicks from local searches. Your goal is to be one of those three businesses.
Distance Factor
Google heavily weighs proximity to the searcher. This means it's very difficult to rank in cities where your business isn't physically located. Focus on dominating your immediate service area first.
Optimizing for Maps
Fill out your GBP completely (5 categories, 20+ services). Get reviews consistently. Post weekly updates. Ensure your NAP (name, address, phone) is consistent everywhere online.
